Shair was born in 2021 when founder Dr. Akhil Chawla, then a dental student in Toronto, Canada, couldn’t see his patients after COVID lockdowns closed his school’s clinic. With some practices still open, he wondered why he couldn’t bring his patients to another clinic. Patients needed treatment, and providers wanted to work.
Shair was built on the idea that patients see providers, not clinics.
Since then, it has grown into a network of providers practicing independently in shared spaces, giving patients the freedom to follow the person they trust most. Every day, Shair enables hygienists and dentists to deliver care in flexible locations, helping communities access convenient dental services in a more personal, transparent, and connected way.
